Amazon SP-API Application for Seller Order Fulfillment
An informational overview of how the application accesses Amazon Seller Central order and fulfillment data, the shipping carriers it uses, and the controls that protect customer information.
Gray Wolf Technology operates an Amazon Selling Partner API (SP-API) application in support of seller-authorized fulfillment and shipping workflows for Amazon Seller Central orders. The application is used to process and fulfill those orders end-to-end, including order processing, fulfillment coordination, shipping documentation, carrier label generation, inventory updates, and shipment tracking updates.
The application is granted Amazon's Direct-to-Customer Shipping restricted role, which allows it to retrieve only the minimum customer and order information necessary to ship physical goods to the recipient.
What data the application accesses
The application uses Amazon's SP-API to retrieve only the minimum customer and order information necessary to ship physical goods directly to the customer. Through the SP-API, the application:
- Downloads Amazon orders requiring fulfillment.
- Retrieves specific Amazon order details.
- Retrieves order item details needed for packing slips and shipment preparation.
- Retrieves recipient and shipping address information needed for carrier shipment processing.
- Uploads carrier and tracking information back to Amazon.
- Uploads inventory information to keep Amazon availability accurate.
The specific data elements accessed are:
- Amazon Order ID
- Seller Order ID, where applicable
- Order status
- Purchased item, SKU, and order item details
- Quantity ordered
- Recipient first and last name
- Shipping address
- Phone number or contact information when required for carrier shipment processing
- Fulfillment and shipment-related data
- Carrier name and tracking number for shipment confirmation back to Amazon
- Inventory/SKU availability information required to maintain accurate seller-side inventory
The application does not use Amazon customer personally identifiable information for marketing, analytics, profiling, resale, advertising, or any unrelated business purpose. The data is used only for order fulfillment, shipping documentation, carrier label creation, inventory and fulfillment synchronization, and shipment/tracking confirmation back to Amazon.
Fulfillment-related features
The application provides fulfillment and shipping workflow automation for Amazon Seller Central orders, including:
- Synchronization and download of Amazon orders that require seller-side fulfillment.
- Retrieval of only the minimum customer, address, and item information required to ship the order.
- Packing slip generation.
- Shipping label generation.
- Shipping form and shipment document generation where required.

Third-party shipping carriers
The application submits shipment information to third-party shipping carriers for the purpose of generating shipping labels and obtaining tracking numbers for Amazon orders. The shipping carriers used today are:
- FedEx
- USPS
These carriers receive only the minimum shipment information required to create shipping labels and process delivery, such as recipient name, shipping address, package and shipment details, and contact information when required by the carrier. The carriers do not have access to Gray Wolf Technology's systems or to any Amazon-sourced data beyond what is provided for the specific shipment.
Gray Wolf Technology does not sell, share, or disclose Amazon customer personally identifiable information to any third party for marketing, analytics, advertising, profiling, or any non-fulfillment purpose.
Data protection and security controls
The application applies data minimization, controlled middleware processing, least-privilege access controls, encrypted data transmission, encryption at rest, centralized logging and monitoring, limited third-party disclosure for carrier shipment processing, vulnerability management procedures, and PII retention controls that delete Amazon customer personally identifiable information within 30 days.
